Jelel Ezzine
Jelel Ezzine received the B.S. degree in electromechanical engineering from the Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tunis (ENIT), in 1982, the MSEE degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), in 1985, and the Ph.D. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology (GT), in 1989. From 1989 to 1995 he was an assistant professor at the Department of Systems Engineering at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) where he taught and carried research in systems and control. From 1995 to 2000 he was an assistant professor at the Electrical Engineering department at ENIT where he has been Associate Professor as well as an elected member of its Scientific Council since 2000. During the period of 2003-2005 he was been the Director of Studies and the Vice-Director of ENIT. From 2003 to 2008 he was the Director of Doctoral Schools and Research Valorization at the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Technology. Since 2009, he has been thye Director-General of International Cooperation at the same Ministry.


His research interests include control and stabilization of jump parameter systems, Neuro-fuzzy systems, application of systems and control theory, system dynamics, and sustainability science. He was invited to present his work in several countries, such as Japan, China, Mexico, France, Saudi Arabia and the USA. He has been a visiting research professor at Dartmouth College (July 1998-June 1999), the Automation and Robotics Research Institute (ARRI) UTA, TX (March 1998-June 1998). He has been a Jemison Institute fellow, at Dartmouth College (July 1998-August 1998) and invited visiting Scholar at the School of Electrical Engineering, GT, GA (July 1994).

He is co-editor of the special issue Control Theory and its Applications, the Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, vol. 18, no. 4, 1993. Co-author of the book chapter “Convergence in distribution and generalized stability of random dynamical systems,” in Diffusion Processes, and Related Problems in Analysis: Stochastic Flows.” Vol. II, Eds. M. Minsky, and V. Wihstutz, Birkauser Boston, Inc., 1990. He is also the author of several journal and conference papers as well as several internal reports. He has reviewed papers for several international journals, such as the IEEE Transaction of Automatic Control, the French Academy of Science, the International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, the International Journal of Control, the International Journal of Systems Science, the Journal of the Operational Research Society, and the Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering. Moreover, he was part of several national and international Organizing Committees (OC) as well as International Program Committees (IPC). For instance he is co-founder and co-Chairman of the 1st International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics (ISCIII’03).

He is IEEE CEB Associate Editor, Senior Member of IEEE, Expert at the IAEA, Eta Kappa Nu, Pi Mu Epsilon, Gamma Beta Phi, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. Moreover, Professor Ezzine is a Board Member of The International Network of Resource Information Centers (INRIC), USA, Known as the Balaton Group, Board Member of he Global Community Initiatives, Inc. (GCI), USA, and Member of The Earth Chapter Local Community Advisory Committee, Costa-Rica.
